Yolanda began her career almost 20 years ago working with children using Art Therapy as her primary therapeutic intervention. Currently she works with individual adults, couples and families using an attachment framework and psychodynamic model. Yolanda’s treatment style is based in a client centred integrated approach utilizing models such as cognitive behavioural therapy and psychodynamic therapy. Through this dynamic process she is a guide, collaborating with each client in their personal journey toward emotional balance and wellbeing. She has helped people with a variety of psychological struggles including grief, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, lack of motivation and partnership discord related to parenting as well as relationship and marital issues.
In addition to working with individual and couples, Yolanda also offers family therapy. She works with adult families to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships across generations. Her approach is rooted in empathy and evidence-based techniques, tailored to the unique dynamics and histories within each family. Together with family members, they address underlying patterns, foster healthier boundaries, and support each individual in expressing their needs constructively. Her goal is to help families navigate challenges, heal past wounds, and build more connected, communicative and resilient relationships.
Yolanda has also spent the last several years supervising master level students training to be therapists in Ontario including Lani Lipson.
