Dr. Samantha Waxman, C.Psych., PMH-C

Dr. Waxman is a registered Clinical and Health Psychologist with individuals and couples, and the co-founder of The Well Parents Centre, a clinic dedicated to supporting individuals and families through the emotional challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting. She has a strong interest in reproductive mental health, including the psychological impact of infertility, pregnancy loss, termination for medical reasons, and perimenopause. Dr. Waxman is certified in Perinatal Mental Health and has completed specialized training in perimenopause care, allowing her to provide informed, compassionate support across the reproductive lifespan.
Her practice focuses on helping people manage anxiety, depression, stress, and major life transitions. She also supports clients dealing with relationship concerns, sexual health, and the unique emotional challenges of parenthood and identity shifts. Dr. Waxman uses evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR, tailoring her care to meet the individual needs of each client in a warm, collaborative environment.
In addition to her clinical work, she offers mental health workshops for organizations and teaches in the clinical psychology program at Adler Graduate Professional School, where she contributes to training the next generation of therapists.
She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Queen’s University and completed her clinical residency at The Ottawa Hospital, with experience in maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, chronic illness, and women’s health. Dr. Waxman has also published research and contributed textbook chapters on sexuality, pregnancy, and mental health.
