Catherine is a registered social worker, who works to support you to feel safer and healthier in your relationships, body and environment, particularly during challenging times of transition. Catherine has worked with children, teens, adults and couples to support families and individuals to improve their dynamics, communication and relationships.

Catherine holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) and Community Development from the University of Toronto. She is a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She is also a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). As a trauma informed yoga teacher, trained in both Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, she engages the wisdom of the body and mindfulness based approaches to support healing and shift experience. This approach can support you to understand the physical and somatic elements of experience, and find ways to soothe, calm, and energize the body, and understand its story. Catherine has completed Gottman Couples Therapy Training and Integrated Sex and Couples Certification (Dr. Tammy Nelson).

As a child and family therapist, she uses an approach that is rooted in the principals of attachment, and that empowers families by sharing values, rules and tools for raising co-operative and resilient kids. Over the past 10 years, both in agency and in private practice, she has worked with children, teens and parents in the areas of attachment and child development. Her approach is based on the needs of each family, but can involve; parent education, developing skills for attunement, and collaborating to unpack deeper meaning behind children's behaviours. She also offers strategies to develop skills for consistent and emotionally respectful responses that support the healthy development of resiliency and emotional intelligence. Sessions aim to help parents feel less overwhelmed in being the safe and secure base for their kids, in ever more difficult parenting times. She also helps direct parents to additional resources that may help in their caregiving journey, when necessary.

Catherine works to provide a new, positive understanding of your current family dynamic with actionable solutions that will give you the hope and confidence needed to transform your family, and will support busy and overwhelmed parents in reaching their goals.
