Rebecca is a registered social worker who has specialized in pediatric mental health with experience in both hospital and community settings. Becoming a mom has inspired Rebecca’s interest in parental mental health and she is passionate about helping clients navigate their way through pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood. Using care and humour, Rebecca strives to support and engage clients in problem solving and skill building that translates well into ‘real life’, outside of therapy sessions.
For over 15 years Rebecca has worked with children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with a variety of challenges including; depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, self-harm, grief and loss, low self-worth, relationship stress, and adjustment to life transitions.
Rebecca offers parenting consultation to help clients navigate common issues, such as; establishing family routines, managing difficult behaviour, limit setting, attachment concerns, and challenges with transitions.
Rebecca is committed to evidence-based practice and continued professional development. She works from an eclectic, trauma-informed therapeutic approach that is grounded in her training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Rebecca is additionally trained to provide Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for the treatment of OCD, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Helping clients to create and increase self-compassion is a focus throughout all of her work.
Rebecca holds a Masters of Social Work from Carleton University. She is a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). Rebecca is a certified Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International.
Rebecca offers virtual-only services at The Well Parents Centre. When not at work, Rebecca is usually trying to keep up with her two young children.
