Dr. Satin is the co-founder of The Well Parents Centre. She is a registered Clinical and Health Psychologist, and a certified perinatal mental health care provider (Postpartum Support International). She provides individual therapy and couples therapy. The focus of her practice is perinatal mental health from pregnancy to postpartum through to the early years of parenting. She is also passionate about supporting clients through fertility challenges, miscarriage, and infant loss including termination for medical reasons.

Dr. Satin helps with mood, anxiety, difficult adjustment, and relationships. Her therapy is guided by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), and the Gottman Method. Her approach is non-judgemental, practical, and often humorous. She is committed to practice with respect for diversity and she welcomes families from all cultural backgrounds, 2SLGBTQIA+ parents, single parents, adoptive parents, and all family constellations.

Dr. Satin obtained her Masters and PhD from the University of British Columbia. Her Masters thesis focused on the relationship between depression and cancer. Her doctoral dissertation focused on yoga and psychological factors associated with cardiovascular health. During that time, she also completed a yoga teacher training. She then completed a clinical internship in Health and Rehabilitation at the London Clinical Psychology Residency Consortium and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital.

Dr. Satin has been registered as a Clinical and Health Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario working for over 10 years. After working for years with perinatal clients, she recognized the importance of couples work with this population and trained to add this area of competency to her practice. She trained under the supervision of Dr. Philip Jai Johnson with particular emphasis on working with 2SLGBTQIA+ couples. Dr. Satin’s interest in pregnancy and postpartum mental health began in her graduate training as a research assessor of postpartum psychological disorders. She has completed a certificate in Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International (PMH-C).

Dr. Satin offers treatment via phone and video sessions, which she finds especially helpful for new parents as it helps to overcome some of the barriers to seeking treatment while caring for a baby. She is offering couples therapy both virtually and in-person at our midtown office. She also provides clinical supervision and consultation in clinical psychology and perinatal mental health.

Dr. Satin is the proud mother of a 7 year old daughter and 10 year old son.
