Azura Goodman RN, IBCLC

  • Registered Nurse

  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)

Azura is a Registered Nurse and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She has had 10+ years of experience and thousands of hours working with feeding families day in and day out at public lactation clinics, feeding support groups, hospitals, home-visits, and virtual consults throughout the GTA and she’s loved every second of it. She is inclusive of all family structures, ways of feeding and ways of parenting. She likes to refer to herself as a feeding consultant versus lactation consultant as she supports families who offer human milk, formula or a combination of the two. Bottle feeding families need help too!

Azura works to help balance specific client goals with the feeding parent’s (and family at large’s) mental health. She recognizes the intense pressure that is put upon feeding parents (and the pressure they put upon themselves) to exclusively breast/chestfeed and get it “right”. She understands that the most important thing, at the end of the day is that a parent is able to respond to their infant and get some joy out of the parenting experience.

Azura has a hands off approach to teaching—ensuring that clients can replicate learned skills after she leaves. She loves to work with those who are expecting, new to infant feeding, those managing bottle refusal as well as those who are looking for support as they plan to return to work or plan to wean. Azura has a special interest in teaching, planning, and building hope in pregnant folks who had a negative infant feeding experience the first go around. Azura’s client feedback is that she is thorough, non-judgmental, sensitive, effective and offers extensive text-follow up.

When not nerding out on all things lactation Azura likes to hike, sing and joke around with her wife, two incredible children and her dear pals.
