Dr. Samantha Waxman, C.Psych., PMH-C (She/Her)
Dr. Waxman is the co-founder of The Well Parents Centre. She practices in the areas of Clinical, Health, and Counselling Psychology. Dr. Waxman’s practice focuses on helping prenatal and postpartum clients manage mood, anxiety, and adjustment to parenthood. She also offers more general services for the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, stress-related difficulties, relationship issues, sexual dysfunction, and chronic illness.
Dr. Waxman is a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, the Ontario Psychological Association, and the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CACBT). She is a CACBT-certified Cognitive Behaviour Therapist, and has also completed a specialized certificate in Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International.
Dr. Waxman completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Queen's University. She completed her clinical residency at The Ottawa Hospital, where she worked in the areas of maternal fetal medicine, gynecological oncology, HIV services, respiratory rehabilitation, and neuromuscular services. Dr. Waxman has published research in the areas of chronic pain and women's sexual functioning, and has also written textbook chapters on sexuality, pregnancy, and childbirth.
Dr. Waxman offers services at The Well Parents Centre and at the Oakville Centre for Cognitive Therapy. For those unable to attend sessions in person, sessions may be available via phone/video or home visits.
When she’s not working, Dr. Waxman spends her time looking after two very active young children.

Tia Slightham, MEd (She/Her)
Tia has a Masters in Early Childhood Education and is certified in Positive Discipline. Tia taught kindergarten in the States before moving to Canada. She has worked with kids and families for over 15 years and is also a mother of two young boys.
Tia is the founder of Tia Slightham- Parenting Solutions, where she works with parents to give them positive ways to decrease the daily struggles we all encounter as parents.

Dr. Jillian Satin, C.Psych., PMH-C (She/Her)
Dr. Satin is the co-founder of The Well Parents Centre. She is a Clinical and Health Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. In addition to general adult mental health, she is passionate about perinatal (prenatal and postpartum) mental health for both mothers and fathers. Her therapy is guided by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy principles and is non-judgemental, practical, and often humorous.
Dr. Satin obtained her Masters and PhD from the University of British Columbia. Her doctoral dissertation focused on yoga and psychological factors associated with cardiovascular health. She then completed a clinical internship in Health and Rehabilitation at the London Clinical Psychology Residency Consortium and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital.
Dr. Satin’s interest in pregnancy and postpartum mental health began in her graduate training as a research assessor of postpartum psychological disorders through the B.C. Women’s Hospital. She has completed a certificate in Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International.
She is a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario in good standing. She is a member of the Ontario Psychological Association, Canadian Psychological Association, and Postpartum Support International.
To overcome some of the barriers to seeking treatment while caring for a baby, she offers telephone and video sessions in addition to office visits, and even home visits (depending on location and availability). Dr. Satin offers services at The Well Parents Centre and at Kidcrew.

Michelle Lavergne, MSW, RSW (She/Her)
Michelle’s practice has a focus on women’s health including perinatal mental health, parenting transitions, eating disorders and addiction. She has extensive experience working with adolescents and families, working from a cognitive behavioural and strengths-based approach. Michelle is committed to providing supportive, transparent and collaborative work with all of her clients.
Michelle holds a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Toronto. Her undergraduate degree is in Women’s Studies and Sociology and helped to form the foundation of her interest in working with women. She is a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She is also a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
Five years ago, she completed advanced graduate training at the Postpartum Stress Centre in Philadelphia and started her own practice with a focus on women’s health. Michelle is currently working on a specialized certificate in Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International. She currently works at a major school board, and is a passionate advocate for youth with mental health and learning issues in the education system. Previously she worked in adolescent mental health programs in hospitals.
Michelle is the mom to three awesome girls aged 15, 13 and 8.
